Change inevitable. Growth optional.

That is the title of chapter 61 of Roy Williams’ book “Secret Formulas of the Wizard of Ads” (wizardacademypress.com). I think that book came out in 1998, but the words mean more to me every time I read them. The world is changing. Business is changing. Consumers are changing. We all have to work hard to keep up. (Remember before September 11th, the mini-recession, high gas prices, MySpace, blogging journalists or wars in the Middle East? Remember travel agents? Oh--things change quickly.)

Sometimes that thought is daunting, and I feel exhausted. Sometime it’s invigorating and challenging.
